The Bump and Grind trail has a lot of switch-backs and is popular year round. This is a great area for beginners as there is little chance of ending up alone and help is always nearby. Also nearby are the Homestead, the Gabby Hayes, the Connector and the Hopalong Cassidy trails which are great for intermediate and expert hikers. If hiking is not your favorite thing to do but you still want to be outdoors, you could take a trip to Civic Center Park off of Fred Waring Dr. and San Pablo Ave. This park is one of the largest recreational areas in Palm Springs and there are many different sites to visit. For the history buffs out there, you could visit the Holocaust Memorial or the Peace memorial and learn more about the way life was during those time periods. For the art fans there is an impressive public art collection that you can tour or visit by yourself. There is also a concession building a skate park, children’s play ground, an amphitheater, a dog park, volleyball courts, tennis courts, baseball fields, and basketball courts.
